The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation
–Henry David Thoreau
How we define wealth is extremely important to the end goal.
It’s like a the thread we use to weave the basket. If you have rotten thread, then the basket will fall apart.
In the U.S. we primarily define success financially. However, this is only one aspect of wealth.
When I think about someone being hustle broke I think of the successful artist or sales person who works themselves to death and don’t have any friends and their family life is abysmal. Being lazy is a personal flaw and the inverse of that is just as damaging.
All that to say, if you earn x amount and destroy your relationships then you are broke.
When I’m setting up my goals for the year I review 7 different areas: finances, health, spirituality, personal, relationships, family, and art.
If you look at success from a holistic vantage point then you’ll be much happier later on in life. I see so many artists fizzle out as they get older. I want to burn brighter!!
Having a great wealth mindset is a very important driver to where you are going to be in the next 5 years.
